We believe good decisions shouldn't be a privilege
For two decades we built data platforms and tools for financial institutions — and watched the clarity they buy stay locked away from everyone else. Quant exists to hand it over.
You can't manage what you don't see or understand
We spent years looking for a tool to run our own portfolios — and never found one. The market is full of accounting tools and trading tools: software that counts what happened, or executes what is next. Almost nothing helps you build and preserve wealth — and everything we tried stumbled over the same six things.
Wealth is scattered
A real portfolio spans brokers, banks, pensions, and wrappers. No single tool shows it whole — so the complete picture lives in a hand-maintained spreadsheet, if it exists at all.
Funds are opaque
A line that reads "60% equities, 8 funds, 12 single names" tells you almost nothing about what you actually own. Two "diversified" funds can be 80% the same companies — and nobody flags it.
Built for the trade, not the decade
Retail platforms are optimised for order flow and engagement. A long-term investor — someone thinking in years of compounding, not days of momentum — is not their customer.
Real portfolios don't fit
The direct investment, the property, the lending contract, the stake in a friend's company: the assets that carry real weight in a private portfolio have no place in a broker app.
Decisions vanish
Nothing records why you bought, what you expected, and whether it worked. Without that record you cannot learn from your own track record — you can only repeat it.
Good data is a privilege
Enterprise-grade data costs more than an individual portfolio can earn back, and retail feeds are inconsistent and unreliable. Individuals decide on data no professional would accept.
We believe everyone should have access to good decisions.
We spent two decades inside institutional finance, where good decisions are manufactured from good data and good tools — and where both are a privilege. Quant exists to make that machinery available to people.
What we hold ourselves to
We are not chasing features, and we are not turning into a trading platform any time soon — a true north star tells you more about where a product is going than any list of functionality.
Access over exclusivity
The math behind exposures, attribution, and look-through was solved thirty years ago — it was just never distributed beyond institutions. We bring that data discipline and those tools to individual investors at a price a person can justify.
Signal over hype
Finfluencers fill the vacuum that missing data leaves behind. The antidote is not more opinions — it is a clear picture of what you own and what it is doing. People who see clearly are much harder to fool.
Markets that grow beyond one time zone
The US dominates today partly because it is the easiest market to see into. We want European and global markets to be as accessible and as understandable — because markets that investors can understand attract more resources, and grow.
Built by the people who use it
We come out of two decades in institutional finance, and each of us runs a real portfolio on Quant every day. Nothing ships until it holds up in that daily use.
Build it with us
Quant is in early access, and we are shaping it with the people who use it. Bring a real portfolio and honest feedback — the bad kind especially.
